Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the questions we get asked most often.

What is Kushora and who is it for?

Kushora is an Engineering Placement Preparation Platform designed specifically for engineering colleges in India. It serves three user roles:

  • Students — practice aptitude tests, coding challenges, and mock interviews.
  • Staff (Faculty / Placement Coordinators) — monitor student performance, generate reports, and manage test assignments.
  • Institutional Administrators — manage staff accounts, configure institutional settings, and oversee access.

Access to Kushora is granted on an institutional basis — individual students and staff cannot self-register without their institution being enrolled first.

How do I register on Kushora as a student?

Student registration is available once your institution has been approved on Kushora. To register:

  • Visit the Student Registration page.
  • Fill in your name, enrollment number, branch, and college email address.
  • Accept the Terms of Service and click Register.
  • An OTP will be sent to your email — enter it to verify and complete registration.

If registration is not available at your institution, contact your Placement Coordinator.

How do I log in to Kushora?

Kushora uses OTP-based email login — there are no passwords to remember.

  • Go to the Login page.
  • Enter your registered email address and click Send OTP.
  • Check your inbox (and spam folder) for a 6-digit OTP from Kushora.
  • Enter the OTP within 5 minutes and click Login.

The platform automatically identifies your role (Student / Staff / Admin) and redirects you to the appropriate dashboard.

What devices and browsers does Kushora support?

Kushora works on any modern device with a web browser. For the best experience we recommend:

  • Browsers: Google Chrome 100+, Mozilla Firefox 100+, Microsoft Edge 100+, Safari 15+.
  • Device: Desktop or laptop for coding tests (larger screen recommended). Mobile is supported for browsing and aptitude practice.

JavaScript must be enabled. Ad blockers may occasionally interfere with OTP email delivery — if you experience issues, try temporarily disabling your ad blocker.

I didn't receive my OTP — what should I do?

If your OTP hasn't arrived within 2 minutes, try the following:

  • Check your spam / junk folder — OTP emails from Google Apps Script may be filtered.
  • Make sure you entered your registered email address correctly.
  • Click "Resend OTP" on the login page (available after 60 seconds).
  • If your institution uses a college email with a custom domain, ensure the domain allows external email delivery.

If the problem persists after 3 attempts, contact support.kushora@9teeninitiative.com with your registered email and institution name.

How do I update my profile information?

After logging in, navigate to your Profile section in the student dashboard. You can update your name, branch, and semester. Your enrollment number and email are fixed at registration and cannot be changed by yourself — contact your Placement Coordinator for corrections.

How do I delete my Kushora account?

Account deletion requests are handled by your institution. To request deletion:

  • Contact your Placement Coordinator or Institutional Administrator to initiate the deletion.
  • Alternatively, email privacy.kushora@9teeninitiative.com with your registered email and subject line "Account Deletion Request".

Deletions are processed within 7 business days. Some data may be retained for up to 6 months as required by our Privacy Policy.

What types of assessments does Kushora offer?

Kushora offers three core assessment modules:

  • Aptitude Tests — Quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, verbal ability, and data interpretation. Multiple-choice format with a timer.
  • Coding Challenges — Problem-solving in multiple languages with automated code execution, test case evaluation, and AI-generated feedback on code quality.
  • Mock Interviews — AI-evaluated text-based interview responses assessing technical knowledge, communication, and structured thinking.

Can I retake a test?

Retake availability depends on the settings configured by your institution's staff. By default:

  • Practice Tests — unlimited retakes; only your best score is shown on the leaderboard.
  • Assigned Tests — may be restricted to one attempt as configured by your Placement Coordinator.

Check with your staff if you believe you need an additional attempt on a restricted test.

How does the AI coding evaluation work?

When you submit a coding solution, Kushora's AI evaluation engine:

  • Runs your code against multiple automated test cases.
  • Analyses code correctness, time complexity, and code quality using an LLM.
  • Generates feedback on logic errors, edge cases missed, and improvement suggestions.

AI scores are advisory. If you disagree with a score, you can request a manual review by your Placement Coordinator. Note: submitted code is not retained beyond the evaluation — see our Privacy Policy.

My test was interrupted — will I lose my progress?

Kushora saves your in-progress test state in your browser's sessionStorage. If you accidentally close the tab or navigate away:

  • For aptitude tests — reopen the same browser tab and the test should resume from where you left off, as long as the session is still active.
  • For coding tests — your draft code is saved automatically as you type.

If the page is fully closed or your session expires, the test may count as submitted (with whatever was saved). Contact your Placement Coordinator if this happens during an assigned test.

How does the Staff Dashboard work?

The Staff Dashboard gives authorised faculty and placement coordinators a comprehensive view of student performance. Key features include:

  • Overview Stats — total students, average scores, pass rates, and active test counts.
  • Student Performance Graph — trends of students taking aptitude tests daily, weekly, and monthly.
  • Top Performers — ranked leaderboards for Aptitude, Coding, and Interview sections.
  • Student Management — view individual student profiles, scores, and attempt history.
  • Reports & Analytics — export or view detailed placement readiness reports.

How do I register as a staff member?

Staff registration is done through the Institution portal:

  • Your Institutional Administrator must create a staff account on your behalf, or
  • Use the Staff Registration page and register with your official college email.
  • An OTP will be sent for verification. Once verified, your account is pending admin approval.

Staff accounts are reviewed and approved by the Institutional Administrator before access is granted.

Can staff download student performance reports?

Yes. From the Staff Dashboard → Reports & Analytics section, you can:

  • View individual and cohort-level performance data.
  • See top performers across Aptitude, Coding, and Interview.
  • Filter reports by branch, semester, or date range.

Export functionality (PDF/Excel) is planned for a future platform update. Currently, reports can be viewed on-screen and screenshots or browser print-to-PDF can be used.

How does my institution get access to Kushora?

Kushora is available to engineering institutions through an institutional access request:

  • An authorised representative (HOD, Principal, or Placement Officer) submits an Access Request from the Kushora homepage.
  • The Kushora team reviews the request and verifies institutional credentials (AICTE/UGC affiliation).
  • Upon approval, a 14-day evaluation period begins with full platform access.
  • After evaluation, a subscription agreement is executed for continued access.

For queries about pricing or enterprise agreements, email institutions.kushora@9teeninitiative.com.

Can multiple staff members be registered at one institution?

Yes. Kushora supports multiple staff accounts per institution. The Institutional Administrator can:

  • Approve or revoke staff registrations.
  • Assign staff to specific student cohorts or departments.
  • Set data visibility permissions (e.g., department-scoped vs institution-wide).

The number of simultaneous staff accounts depends on your institution's subscription tier.

Where is my data stored?

All Kushora data is stored on Google Firebase (Firebase Realtime Database and Firebase Authentication), which uses Google's global cloud infrastructure. Data may be stored in servers across multiple regions. For full details, see our Privacy Policy — Firebase section.

Is my coding submission data sold or shared with third parties?

No. Kushora does not sell, rent, or trade any personal or assessment data. Your coding submissions are processed only for AI evaluation and are not retained beyond the evaluation session. Scores and feedback are visible to your institution's authorised staff only.

See our Privacy Policy — Data Sharing section for complete details.

How do I disable cookies on Kushora?

You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in. For a full breakdown of every cookie Kushora uses, see our Cookie Policy. To clear localStorage (which will log you out), open your browser's Developer Tools → Application → Local Storage.
